Feast Parade Sunday was made a very memorable occasion this year for our church with the visit of Croydon Citadel Salvation Army Band.
The morning worship was led by Major Charles King and Deputy Bandmaster Kevin Coates. There were quite a number of visitors in the congregation to hear the band and it was a time of blessing for many people. After the meeting the band were treated to a barbecue lunch in the garden which they were able to enjoy in glorious sunshine. Many people lined the streets to watch the Feast Parade and it was a real thrill to have the Band leading the parade and witnessing for the Lord in the music that they played followed by the line up floats representing different groups and organisations in the village. One of the most memorable moments was the band playing ‘Onward Christian soliders’ as they marched down the High Street. Afterwards, the comment that it makes the Parade to have an Army Band was one heard often.
Following the Parade, under the leadership of Bandmaster Paul Graham the band gave a concert outside the village library which delighted the crowd of As a church we wish to thank Croydon Citadel Band for the wonderful witness that they gave for God. Their visit will be remembered for a long time to come.
