Prayer Requests: Please pray for: · Rosie & Rob Bewley and family as Rosie is far from well · Peter & Diana Stanyer as Peter continues in his recovery from his heart attack last year. · General Elect Shaw Clifton & Commissioner Helen Clifton as they become the new International Leaders of The Salvation Army on 2nd April. · Commissioners John & Elisabeth Matear as they become the new leaders of The Salvation Army in the United Kingdom on 2nd April. · Procession of Witness on Good Friday by the churches in Histon and Impington Week of Prayer Following on from the Weeks of Prayer held by the churches in Histon and Impington in previous years, this will be happening again this year from Sunday 4th June to Sunday 11th June. The week will commence at 7:30pm on the 4th and conclude with a Celebration service on Sunday 11th at 6:30pm. As has happened before, the Prayer Room will be at the Methodist Church and the idea is for people to sign up to pray at a time during the week. Further details will become available nearer the time. Self Denial Appeal Total Thank you to everyone who gave so generously to the Self Denial Appeal Altar Service which raised the tremendous amount of £850.08. This money will go to help The Salvation Army’s work in Argentina, Bangladesh, Mozambique, Pakistan and Zambia. Manual Lifting and Handling Course There will be a Manual Lifting and Handling course held at the church on Wednesday 12th April from 1:30pm to 4pm. This is primarily for the volunteers in the Charity Shop in respect to Health & Safety regulations but is open for anyone else to attend that might benefit. Please speak to Captains if you would like further information. Weekly Activities There will be no Sunshine Club or CAMEO Club on Easter Monday 17th April and no Home League on Tuesday 18th April. These activities will resume as normal the following week. Church / Corps Council Meeting The next meeting of the Church/Corps Council takes place on Thursday 27th April at 7:30pm. If you have an item that you wish to be included on the Agenda, please speak to a Corps Council member or Captains. Charity Shop The Charity Shop will close for the Easter period on Thursday 13th April at 4pm and reopen on Tuesday 18th April at 9am. Good Friday Procession of Witness – 14th April The Procession of Witness to mark Good Friday by the churches in Histon and Impington will take place at 11am. The Procession will commence from Histon Parish Church and will pause at the Library and Barley Mow before proceeding to the Village Green for a service. Afterwards, everyone is invited for Hot Cross buns and refreshments at the Methodist Church. United Service at the Recreation Ground The opening of the new Recreation Ground Pavilion takes place at the end of this month and the churches in Histon and Impington have been invited to hold a service as part of the opening celebrations. The service will take place on Sunday 30th April at 11am in the Marquee at the Recreation Ground and there will be some local sporting figures taking part. Why not invite your friends to come along to this special service? (If anyone can help on the morning in setting up for the service, please come to the Marquee beforehand). Maundy Thursday – 13th April There will be a Maundy Thursday event at 7:30pm at Norwich Citadel led by our Divisional Leaders, Majors Alan & Alison Burns, which is open for anyone in the Anglia Division to attend. Visit Of General Gowans To Cambridge Cambridge Salvation Army will be having General John Gowans and Commissioner Gisele Gowans as their special guests for the Easter weekend with the following events taking place: Good Friday 7pm - LOVE HURTS - with General & Commissioner Gowans Saturday at 6pm - Tea and Cakes with the General Easter Sunday Meetings at 10am & 6pm with General & Commissioner Gowans
