The Charity Shop has become a popular meeting place for many people in the village. Below is a poem written by Anne Brown about the shop. The Care and Share Shop In our village there’s a store Selling ‘treasures’ by the score, Where kindly folk their goods donate – Ornament, clock or china plate. If you look around the shop You will really have to stop To gaze at all the cuddly toys That bring delight to girls and boys. Or sort through records, books and tapes, Pictures in gold and silver frames, Knitting wool and patterns too, Needlework for you to do. Fancy handbags, wallets, purses, Books of old and modern verses, Curtains, mirrors, glassware, jugs, Assorted teapots, chunky mugs. Earrings, brooches, bracelets, rings, Hats and gloves – so many things. A real ‘Aladdin’s Cave’ is this – It surely is too good to miss. You’ll get a bargain – do some good, And in fact you really could Find something you’ve been searching for. Now who could really ask for more? So if you ever pass this way And need to brighten up your day, Don’t hurry by, but please do stop – Support our ‘Sally Army’ shop. Anne Brown
