By Betty Burrows (Sunshine Club Leader) “Didn’t we have a wonderful day?” is what everyone is still saying about the Divisional Over Sixties Rally at Felixstowe this year. The excellent programme which was led by Lieut-Colonel Glenis Heins was made even more enjoyable by her humour and sincerity. We were also entertained by the talent of the special guest, Mr Don Jenkins, who played some wonderful music brilliantly on the trombone. The them of the day was ‘Heroes and Heroines’ and although no-one from our Sunshine Club entered the Fancy Dress Parade this year, it was good to see other people taking part. It was also good to see in the birthday presentations that so many people over the age of 90 years young are still attending their local Over Sixties Club and enjoying their day at the Rally. A special feature this year was a presentation for ‘Unsung Heroes’ and it was good to see those people recognised for all the work that they do in the Anglia Division at the local Salvation Army Over Sixties Clubs. There are many unsung heroes in our world today and as the leader of The Sunshine Club I would like to say thank you to all the members who help in any way and give their support on Mondays at the Sunshine Club, because to me you are all unsung heroes and where would the church be without you! God bless you all, Betty We would like to thank Betty for her leadership of The Sunshine Club.
